"Give me Liberty or give me Death."

I have received no less than 10 emails today concerning the VA's "Your life, Your choice." Is this how we honor our veterans who wore this nation's uniform? They risked their lives, watched their buddies die and came home not the same. I think the least we can do is allow them to leave this world with dignity, respect and on their own terms. They should receive the critical care they are entitled to and deserved. Not by some bureaucrat that is eyeing their bed for another Veteran. I know this sounds like a horror movie by the likes of Quentin Tarantino. Unfortunately, this is a publication produced by the Veterans Administration. An informative 52 page booklet explaining choices how to end your life published in 1997. As I looked through this book, (I couldn't stomach reading the whole thing)I was amazed at the guilt inducing scenarios which could easily guide vulnerable older veterans to make the decision that life isn't worth living anymore. I find that despicable, especially, when it's all about money. Not to mention, the VA workers received a mere $24 million in bonuses. President Bush suspended this program and the Messiah reinstated it. And the President says that there aren't any death panels in the healthcare proposal? In 2007-2008, there weren't any faith-based organizations or disability rights advocates listed except for a group called the Hemlock Society. You can imagine what they are about by their name. What is our society becoming? Is euthanasia going to be in the forefront of getting old? I will stay on top of this topic as long as I live. I feel very strongly about this, my father in law is a Korean War Veteran and my son is a U.S. Marine.

Beware of Apollo
Today, everyone is aware of ACORN (the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now) and SEIU (Service Employees International Union). What about an organization called "Apollo Alliance"? Can you imagine an organization consisting of ACORN, SEIU & green based organizations uniting together as a large extremely liberal and powerful force. Van Jones (Green Czar) and Wade Radke (ACORN founder) are board members at Apollo Alliance. Well, It's happened and receiving support from the Obama Administration. All concerned citizens need to investigate this organization. More to follow.

Is Obama creating a civil war in America?
No,no, this one is not mine. The great, academy award winning actor, Jon Voight was interviewed by Alex Koppelman of Salon.com. This is a excellent interview by someone from the film industry that isn't a wacko. Please read it.

Newsflash:
*10 year Budget Deficit
The administration reported today they will raise the forecast from 7.1 trillion to 9 trillion for the 10 year Budget deficit. Ouch! This is the largest since World War II. Trillion is the new billion.
*Afghanistan Election
Hats off to the Afghans who ventured out and voted yesterday under a formidable threat from the Taliban. Approximately 40-50% turned out to the polling places which wasn't as good as the last election. However, the Taliban threatened to cut-off ink stained fingers. The final vote won't be determined for a month, officials say.

Do you think the President of the United States should use phrases like "wee-weed up."? Does this sound Presidential?

Separation of State and Religion?

I've had my fill of the double standard in regards to President Obama and the state run media. Yesterday, the President solicits Clergy to help him with his healthcare reform proposal that is in serious trouble. Politicians always turn to religion when they have issues. Can you imagine if Bush would have done this? OMG! Everyone and their brother would be crying foul. ACLU, where do you stand on this? That's what I thought. The administration's message is getting out and that is the problem. I find it very disingenuous when the President uses biblical phrases like "I am my brother's keeper? His half brother lives in Africa in a small dirt floor hut. That is what I call "keeper." How does the Clergy aforementioned feel about Obamacare funding abortions or funding abortions in the future? (President Obama speeches in 2003 & 2007, libspeak-funding reproductive procedures=funding abortions) I realize how passionate the President feels about national (socialized) healthcare. Saul Alinsky would be so proud. The problem I have is, Obama speaks about the dis-information about his healthcare program. If you read H.R. 3200, it rebukes what the president is saying. Also, do not discount what President Obama has said in his past speeches. Of course, there is video clips to back up this statement. Unfortunately for the administration, their message has been so confusing and lacking clarity, that the public has lost any confidence in this plan, and in his administration. Today, there is talk of splitting the bill in two. Whatever they conceive, I won't trust it. You can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig! I personally, will continue to oppose this socialized healthcare proposal because the cost will be astronomical and I truly believe the administration's ulterior motive is to take-over healthcare in general. Lets not forget, insurance companies are one of the largest institutions for investment capital. The administration would love to get their hands on that.
I read a article by a company named Arduin, Laffer & Moore Econometrics that was commissioned by the State of Missouri to evaluate the national healthcare program. I thought you might be interested in this study. Rather long, but informative.

I know I am asking for a miracle when it comes to double standards. As long as we have a very liberal media, we will have to deal with this.

*This week, jobless claims rose to 576,000. Is the recession recovery really happening?

Power Lunch:
Congressman Waxman and Congressman Stupak call for private insurance companies to report salaries, bonuses, retreats and vacations. Which is payback for non-support of the healthcare bill. Tell them to take a hike. Let's take a look at the Senator's and House member's salaries, bonuses, retreats and vacations? Who owns the jets the congress uses? I didn't get your message?

I bet the administration wished they could of gotten the healthcare bill passed before the August recess. Ello Govna! The majority of political analyst and pundits seem to be in agreement that the White House has lost it's message. I've never really understood the political spin game. My parents taught us not to lie. I assume their parents did not. I am amazed when a spokesperson, politician or political pundit can stand in front of an audience and say that they didn't say something yesterday, when we are watching the sound byte showing they did. Those sound bytes do not go away. I think the American public has had enough of the Washington spin machine. For a President that ran such an organized campaign and did everything right, they have gotten way off message. The President seems to have an inability to sell his Obamacare program which he has based his presidency on. How many times have you seen the President support the public option? 3,4, maybe 10 times? He is adamant about this key ingredient for healthcare reform. Of course, this would be a cornerstone part to a government run healthcare system. This would most likely kill private insurance. Recently, President Obama has spoke about the public option is not the whole ball of wax. He said the public option is only a sliver of the overall health coverage components. Unfortunately, the White House has sent so many mixed messages that the public does not understand what they are trying to articulate. Also, between the President, Kathleen Sebelius and Robert Gibbs, (Family Guy) even the news reporters are stumbling on the different stories. Now, Robert Gibbs is saying none of the different interviews seen in the last week, were not in any way, caving to the pressures of the opposition on the public option. Even though everybody has seen the interviews over the past weekend. The president is standing firm on the public option and would prefer a bi-partisan agreement. My worry is that Obama and the liberal democrats will pass this in a majority partisan manner. I think Pelosi and Reid could possibly strong arm enough blue dog democrats to realize their dream and unleash our nightmare. I think this would be political suicide for a lot of democratic politicians. Look at this a different way, Obama is in a predicament, if he drops the public option, he will most likely lose the left leaning democrats in the House. If he pursues the public option, he could possibly lose the blue dog democrats and definitely the republicans. You know they are steadfast on getting some type of bill passed before the end of the year. This is the time we, the American people need to step up the intensity of our protesting and opposition towards this healthcare kidnapping bill. I saw a bumper sticker on a BMW today that said, "Obama lied, Grandma died." Passions and emotions are running high concerning this paramount debate. What we do in the next month will make history. Our citizens are tenacious and will not give up the fight. It's on! Please keep it civil and show respect. We are better than them. We aren't on the TV calling our opponents Nazis, evil mongers, domestic terrorists and meanies. (gosh, I idolize you all.) Make the calls, email them repeatedly and attend a townhall meeting and/or rally. You're kids and their kids will thank you.

President Obama speaks out and often.

This scares me! Single payer = Socialized Healthcare

It seems every administration finds themselves in this situation when they attempt to accomplish some type of monumental national reform. I would love to see healthcare reform. However, I wish the representatives would fix the system we have, which is one of the best healthcare systems in the world.
Change we can do without!

The U.S. State Run Media

As of late, my time has been consumed by the healthcare debate. One other major issue I find appalling and unconscionable is our media. First, I don't think they have the professionalism and unbias objectivity they once had. Back in the day, journalist and news reporters would report the news. Today, they create and spin the news.
I would like everyone to read the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics:

Preamble

Members of the Society of Professional Journalists believe that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of democracy. The duty of the journalists to further those ends by seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account on events and issues. Conscientious journalists from all media and specialties strive to serve the public with thoroughness and honesty. Professional integrity is the cornerstone of a journalist's credibility. Members of the society share a dedication to ethical behavior and adopt the code to declare the society's principles and standards of practice.

Seek Truth and Report it
Journalists should be honest, fair and courageous in gathering, reporting and interpreting information.

Minimize Harm
Ethical journalists treat sources, subjects and colleagues as human beings deserving of respect.

Act Independently
Journalists should be free of obligation to any interest other than the public's right to know.

Be Accountable
Journalists are accountable to their readers, listeners, viewers and each other.

I'm not going to make jokes and call today's journalists hypocrites and liberal. We know the answer. The "mainstream media" sold out to the liberal left a long time ago. That is not a secret by any means. They in part, got President Obama elected. However, because of this persuasion, I believe this is why they have lost so much market share. If you question this, please watch ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News. See which one tries to be fair and balanced. Fox News ratings are far superior to any other news programming mentioned. Also, talk radio is skyrocketing to stratosphere levels. Why do you think the government is romancing the "Fairness Doctrine" again. Talk radio is a tremendous conservative influence for the American people. Our unrepresenting representatives are non-existent and docile compared to the talk radio hosts. The average American conservative flocks to those who represent their views and ideas. Hey Senators and Congressmen, take a memo! The government would eliminate a huge headache implementing the fairness doctrine. Radio stations would be forced to allow an equal amount of liberal radio time. That would put them out of business. (I.E. Air America = Bankrupt) Let's discuss print media... How many newspapers have gone out of business in the last 3 years? Citizens are educated and know when they are being duped. Last week, I was staying at a hotel on business and I was skimming the newspaper and realized that what they said above the fold was basically retracted in the last two paragraphs on a different back page. I believe that the papers realize most people don't read the whole story. I'm sure that isn't the case in all newspapers. (I do like the classifieds) But that reinforced why I don't subscribe or read any newspapers except for WSJ and Financial Times. Side note: I do use all media for research.

A couple of examples of media bias:

Black Panthers with batons in front of Philadelphia polling station.
University of Pennsylvania student reporting

Fox News reporting

CNN reporting on protesters with legal guns at Obama speech in Phoenix.

I couldn't find any other major networks covering the Philly story. I could have missed one. Why didn't anyone else cover the Philly situation besides Fox News and a University of PA student? Wasn't it newsworthy? Fox and others were at the Phoenix speech along with CNN. I guess the Phoenix protesters makes better press. Today, Robert Gibbs, WH Press Secretary (Family Guy) at his daily press conference stated that the email debacle has morphed into something new. The real question is since the White House (David Axelrod) send unsolicited emails to citizens without permission, which is a federal offense, has not received any attention at all except from Major Garrett of Fox News. Different scenario: Carl Rove of the Bush White House, did the same exact thing, the media would be calling for his resignation and his life. Unfortunately, I don't see anything changing any time soon. The young adults graduating with a degree in journalism have been indoctrinated into a very "liberal theatre of thought." In closing, another way of looking at this market with less newspapers, we will cut down less trees. However, I feel sorry for the many employees of those companies that will be in the bread line. "Always love your country, but never trust your government."

The Public Option Head Fake

As I research the information on the removal of the notorious "public option", I'm not sure if I believe the politicians. What is the cornerstone of their re-engineered healthcare proposal. The PUBLIC OPTION. This is the underlying purpose and vehicle for government to take over our healthcare system and ultimately, our lives. I don't think Obamacare can survive without the public option section. Also, we need to be very cautious in watching the administration trying to pass off the public option as something else. A wolf in sheep's clothing? Please be discerning, this is a monumental tool of the left's proposal. The citizen protests have thrown a monkey wrench in the (healthcare) works. When you see Katleen Sebelius downplaying the public option, and embracing co-ops, it sounds a little fishy. I feel that Co-op is libspeak for another version of government control. Why Cooperatives? Yes, they were a popular idea during the depression era. Will they work in this day and age? I'm not absolutely sure. I think we need competition in the health insurance marketplace. As always, our elected officials do not fix the problems at large, they want to change it completely. Tort Reform, Tort Reform... Access across state lines to promote insurance coverage competition. Duh! I've been talking about until I'm blue in the face. As of this weekend, there isn't any credible support for this healthcare program. Rasmussen reports that 54% say passing no healthcare bill is better than passing the Congressional plan. I think that is overwhelming and the administration should understand where the American people stand. Still I ponder, where is the republican healthcare plan? It is the grassroots organizations (you Brooks Brothers wearing, astroturfing, fascist, organized mob joining domestic terrorists, and I say that with deep pride) that deserve the praise. One of my favorites, the infamous Howard Dean talking about the public option.

Can you say deranged? Aaarrrggghhhhhh!

A Trojan horse in training? She has never been a member of Congress!

I guess my point is... We can't falter one ounce. We must keep up the pressure on the representatives, relentlessly. We are making history by opposing government. The founding fathers envisioned this exact exercise in democracy. You know George Washington (G), Thomas Jefferson (TJ), Ben Franklin (Benny), John Adams (Johnny) and James Madison (Jimbo), (nicknames for street cred.) are dancing with the stars (or in the stars) witnessing the forbearance and perseverance of the American populous. Remember, trust is earned, especially when it concerns politicians. "Yes We can and no we don't."

From the Drudge Report:
Overhauling health-care system tops agenda at annual meeting of Canada's doctors
By Jennifer Graham (CP) – 2 days ago

SASKATOON — The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country's health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country - who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting - recognize that changes must be made.

"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.

"We know that there must be change," she said. "We're all running flat out, we're all just trying to stay ahead of the immediate day-to-day demands."

The pitch for change at the conference is to start with a presentation from Dr. Robert Ouellet, the current president of the CMA, who has said there's a critical need to make Canada's health-care system patient-centred. He will present details from his fact-finding trip to Europe in January, where he met with health groups in England, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands and France.

His thoughts on the issue are already clear. Ouellet has been saying since his return that "a health-care revolution has passed us by," that it's possible to make wait lists disappear while maintaining universal coverage and "that competition should be welcomed, not feared."

In other words, Ouellet believes there could be a role for private health-care delivery within the public system.

He has also said the Canadian system could be restructured to focus on patients if hospitals and other health-care institutions received funding based on the patients they treat, instead of an annual, lump-sum budget. This "activity-based funding" would be an incentive to provide more efficient care, he has said.

Doig says she doesn't know what a proposed "blueprint" toward patient-centred care might look like when the meeting wraps up Wednesday. She'd like to emerge with clear directions about where the association should focus efforts to direct change over the next few years. She also wants to see short-term, medium-term and long-term goals laid out.

"A short-term achievable goal would be to accelerate the process of getting electronic medical records into physicians' offices," she said. "That's one I think ought to be a priority and ought to be achievable."

A long-term goal would be getting health systems "talking to each other," so information can be quickly shared to help patients.

Doig, who has had a full-time family practice in Saskatoon for 30 years, acknowledges that when physicians have talked about changing the health-care system in the past, they've been accused of wanting an American-style structure. She insists that's not the case.

"It's not about choosing between an American system or a Canadian system," said Doig. "The whole thing is about looking at what other people do."

"That's called looking at the evidence, looking at how care is delivered and how care is paid for all around us (and) then saying 'Well, OK, that's good information. How do we make all of that work in the Canadian context? What do the Canadian people want?' "

Doig says there are some "very good things" about Canada's health-care system, but she points out that many people have stories about times when things didn't go well for them or their family.

"(Canadians) have to understand that the system that we have right now - if it keeps on going without change - is not sustainable," said Doig.

"They have to look at the evidence that's being presented and will be presented at (the meeting) and realize what Canada's doctors are trying to tell you, that you can get better care than what you're getting and we all have to participate in the discussion around how do we do that and of course how do we pay for it."

Obamacare's "Kill Bill" Public Option

I try to only write 6 days a week, taking Saturday off. So, as I watch the Sunday morning shows and read the posts on the web, I am extremely pleased and refreshed to see the democrats backing down on the "Public Option." The White House has sent it's strongest signals to date concerning scrapping the public option. Hopefully, this will keep the government and it's direct role in its takeover of the healthcare system. I have a notion why this is happening. I believe it is because of the overwhelming response from the protesting Americans at the townhall meetings and the outright opposition to the administration's plans. BUT, lets not start knuckle bumping. We must make August the hottest month for Obamacare supporters (politicians) and keep up and increase the pressure opposing this proposal. President Obama knows he has 60 votes and can pass a bill. What's in the bill will be dictated by the American citizen's level of opposition. If a politician believes they will be voted out of office if they support a bill everyone (constituents) disagrees with, they will have second thoughts concerning their decision. It is extremely important to protest with passion and respect. Do not scream or let your emotions escape you. The democrats would love to capitalize on a sound byte of a protester out of control at a townhall meeting. I am so proud of the American people and their perseverance and tenacity. This is what democracy is and should be. We have the democrats on the ropes, they are crumbling under the pressures of the demonstrator's determination. I don't care what Reid, Pelosi or any of the others say about the protests. We will never back own to them in regard to our freedoms and senseless spending. I think the bigger picture is the debt our country is accruing and the shrinking freedoms and liberties being discarded. It seems that healthcare was the straw that broke the camel's back. (Dromedary) Stay the course, keep up the pressure, protest and call your representatives. I don't want Uncle Sam as my doctor.
